This arguably very lesser known incident that occurred,nearly forty years ago, in a recording studio in Madras has,in later years,given birth to some path breaking revolutionary music in Indian film industry that has gradually taken a new turn towards a trendsetting Golden era in the history of Indian film music.
Some time around 1972 there was a song recording going on in the famous AVM Studios,Madras..Ably supported by a bunch of very disciplined musicians,the South Indian film industry’s one of the finest music directors, G.K.Venkatesh,was the in-charge of song recording that day..
Another legendary South Indian female playback singer P.Suseela was the sole singer taking part in that recording on that eventful day..During the lunch break,singer P.Suseela was relaxing in an easy chair in one of the corners of that AC chamber in the studio..
Approaching her very hesitantly,a very lesser known dark looking small time Guitar player called Desikan,working in G.K.Venkatesh’s troupe those days, came and stood silently in front of her..
